About Us
About our Program
The Gillespie County Crime Stoppers is a non-profit volunteer citizen directed organization founded on the principle that someone other than the criminal has information about a crime. Our goal is to generate anonymous tips from the community and empower the public by showing them that they can make a difference. We provide a 24-hour tip line 997-8477 (TIPS) to the public with guaranteed anonymity. Tipsters are eligible for cash rewards if they provide information about a crime that leads to an arrest. The Board of Directors meets monthly and is responsible for the management of the program which includes: fundraising, processing eligible rewards, acting as trustee of monies and maintaining liaisons with the public, media, and law enforcement. Our program is certified by the Texas Crime Stoppers Advisory Council, Office of the Governor and was established in 1989.
Mission Statement
Crime Stoppers is comprised of diverse, active and dedicated community representatives. Crime Stoppers provides a method for local law enforcement to receive information on crimes. These efforts increase tips, which in turn increase arrests and makes our community safer.
